![]() 308, but boy did it leave me sore after a few dozen rounds. Reduced recoil is great, but not at a slap in the face every time you pull the trigger price. I made the life changing mistake of pulling the trigger on a caribou without ear protection on that rung my bell and left me with ringing ears for a couple of days. Great recoil reduction, really tuned my groups down as well, but the blast is enough to be felt in your sinuses. I think Ruger got it right with this one. Overall, it works well and is small enough to maintain the scout rifle character. As one of the other reviewers wrote, the finish does not match the barrel but it does not look at all bad to me. The noise is less than I expected but certainly louder than with the flash hider. My impression is that the recoil is reduced about 50%, which is very nice. I was pleased to see that it is very compact, smaller than the flash hider that came on the rifle, measuring about 13/16 inches in diameter by 1 3/4 inches long. It was hard for me to tell from the photo how large this muzzle brake is. Purchased one for my American Ranch in 7.62x39įit and finish is near perfect. Installed this on my ruger ranch 7.62x39 fit and finish were near perfect. All I can say is buy this brake, you will not be disappointed. This Ruger brake is very mild in comparison. The $30 AR Stoner brake from Midway worked the same as this Ruger brake, but the blast shook the fillings out of my teeth. However, it is much less than other brakes Ive used. There is increased muzzle blast, which is to be expected. The recoil is about the same as my Compass in 7mm-08. I put this brake on a Thompson Center Compass in 300 win mag. I absolutely love this brake!!! It was very difficult to find a basic, simple, non-tacticool brake for my hunting rifle.at least one that is reasonably priced. I felt a very slight concussion from it when firing at an indoor range but nothing outdoors. If you have a Scout rifle this will surprise you at how much it reduces the recoil. It changed my mind and I am now a big fan. I have to say that I am very impressed with the performance of this brake. My wife bought this for me for my 18 inch stainless steel Scout and I installed it because she bought it without having too much opinion about it. I put this one on my American Predator 6.5 Creedmore. Seen this one and it matches my brake on my Go Wild edition 308. Also helped tighten up my groups.īought a cheaper one from MidwayUSA and didn’t like it, it was HUGE. At 64 I can now enjoy my Ruger Scout 308 without a bruised shoulder. The noise was about the same and the finish matched the barrel which is matte black. Can’t wait to take this rifle out hunting.Ĭut recoil in half and looked great on my Ruger Hawkeye hunter In 30 06įirst of all, it cut the kick in half. This muzzle brake brought up my confidence and accuracy. Follow up shots were great groups were much tighter 1/2 inch groups using federal fusion 150 grain. Recoil was reduced by 50% and sound was the same I think. Got this brake for my Ruger American predator 308. Just got mine today have not tested it yet but it sure fits nicely looks great put it on a Ruger predator in 308 matches barrel perfect It pairs up nicely with the crush washer and sits securely where it’s supposed to.īought this muzzle brake a week ago have not tested it yet but it looks great on my Ruger predator in 308 it matches the barrel it's great you will be very happy It is smaller, lighter, and more effective than the other one I was using. ![]() I was using an off brand muzzle break that was somewhat effective but decided to give this one a try anyways. With nothing on the muzzle it’s like getting kicked by a mule. I’m shooting 180 grain bullets out of a 16” barrel at roughly 2500 fps. Put this on a Ruger Ranch Rifle 7.62x39, tightened the grouping & reduced the Muzzle climb. I bought this muzzlebrake for my 6.5 Creedmoor American Predator and satisfied with it's performance, however after a few months of hunting the finish coating has begun to rust.
